Overview:

This SOP outlines the steps involved in processing employment visa applications for DMCC employees under normal processing times. The process is divided into three phases, with each phase consisting of specific tasks that need to be completed within designated timescales. The responsible parties for each task are clearly identified to ensure accountability and smooth workflow.

Please Note

  1. Visa Applicant Mandatory to be in-country:

- For steps requiring the presence of the visa applicant, it is mandatory for the visa applicant to be in-country to complete the necessary procedures.

  1. Responsible Departments: Kounted, ADGM, ADNIC

  2. Contact Persons: Employee's designated HR representative

PHASES & PROCESS STEPS:



PHASE 1: Initial Application and Entry Permit (5 Working Days)

1. Visa Application - Entry Permit

- Responsible: Kounted/ADGM

- Timescale: 2 workdays

- Remarks: Subject to Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) Approval & Security Clearance


2. Status Change

- Responsible: Kounted/ADGM

- Timescale: 2 workdays



PHASE 2: Medical and Biometric (11 Working Days)

1. Visa Medical

- Responsible: Kounted/ADGM/Employee

- Timescale: 2 workdays

- Remarks: Subject to Visa Applicant Availability


2. Medical Insurance Application and Card Issuance (Client to Arrange) & Emirates ID Application

- Responsible: Kounted/ADNIC

- Timescale: 5 workdays

- Remarks: For new residence visa applicant only.


3. Emirates Biometric Collection

- Responsible: Kounted/Employee/ADGM Office

- Timescale: 1 workday



PHASE 3: Visa Approval and Issuance (5 Working Days)

1. Residence Visa Approval

- Responsible: Kounted/ADGM

- Timescale: 3 workdays


2. Emirates ID Card Issuance

- Responsible: Kounted

- Timescale: 5 workdays

- Remarks: Optional, can be couriered to applicant outside UAE.
